Found Dog

I don't know how it always happens to me but I find dogs all of the time. Probably because I'm a huge dog lover and can't let a dog wander around alone if I see him out and about. Usually the dogs have tags so I'm able to contact the owners right away but not always, not today.

I found a precious, precious little girl today soaking wet and with no collar. I want to keep her so bad. Of course I'm trying to find her owners but if for some reason no one is looking for her, I want her and I don't know how I could convince my husband of this.

I placed a couple of ads on Craigslist, called my local vets, put up signs where I found her. I did everything that I could to help the owners of this lost dog contact me. I hope someone is looking for her and I hope she comes from a good home. She is sweet and so young and looks as though she has had puppies. She was starving when I found her and is on the thin side too. She loves to play with toys and lays in my dogs bed so she probably has a bed of her own somewhere.

The ironic thing is, last year on Christmas day I found my dog Sadie. She was out wandering around on a busy road and I finally caught her, brought her home and tried to contact her owners but no one wanted to claim her so she is mine now and I love her. Funny that this happened to me again almost exactly one year later!

I'll update this post when the owners contact me.

UPDATE: After spending 4 days with me, Molly went home. I am so sad to see her go, she was so sweet and adorable and I got too attached. I don't know why it took her owners 4 days to call me, they live on the same road that I even had a sign up. It was kind of odd, they didn't seem too upset about having their dog gone for 4 days and being gone on Christmas. I miss her so much already! :o(

Oh My Gosh!!

I am so excited that I can't stop shaking!! Literally.

Growing up one of my most Favorite, Favorite, Favorite shows to watch was.....

The Donna Reed Show!

I just adore Donna Reed and so I was so very sad when they stopped playing the show! I was even one of those fans who petitioned on the Nick at Nite site to bring it back but sadly, Donna Reeds ex husbands new wife had the rights to the show (or something like that) and she didn't want to release them! I was sad but I let it go until..... 15 minutes ago when I decided to search Donna Reed on YouTube to see what I would find!

Well, to my surprise at the end of one of the clips was a screen that said: "The complete first season out on DVD October 28, 2008!"

So, I got my butt right over to Amazon and there it was, in stock and on sale waiting for me!!!

I ran downstairs (yelling in excitement as if I was a little kid on Christmas day) to go tell my husband what I just found (I told him a long time ago about how I was so sad that they didn't play her show anymore and he remembered when I started telling him about it all!) So, he just ordered it for me and got the 1 day shipping so I can have it as a my stocking gift!!!

It looks as though they brought it back for the 50th anniversary from when the show first aired! The first season has 37 shows!!! I can not wait to have my Donna Reed marathon! I am still shaking in excitement!!! Plus, the second season will be out before Mothers day in 2009!

{happy mood}

I'm an aunt!

It's a very bittersweet moment for me but I truly am in love with this precious little guy! He is so sweet! We just got home from visiting my sister in law and her new baby boy at the hospital. Please meet baby Killian.

need your creative help...

My husband and I have a tradition where each May {our aniversary month}, we go to Color Me Mine and we both paint a dinnr plate. I think it's a special thing that we do together. I like the idea of adding to our collection each year and some day, as a family we can eat off these plates that are full of memories.

The dilemma is... I don't know what to do with them. They just sit in a stack and collect dust. I want to display them some how but I don't know how?

As of right now, we have a total of 6, but each year 2 more get added!

Have any ideas as to how I can display them? And how I can do it where it will be easy to add to the collection?

A Christmas Tradition!

Ever since my husband and I met we started a tradition of getting each other an ornament each Christmas. It can be whatever we want to give but usually it has some kind of sentimental value to it.

I found the perfect ornament for him this year! Seriously, I am so excited!

The very first time my husband came to a family Christmas dinner and met my dear dog Carmen, Carmen snuck some turkey off the table when no one was looking!

Some of you may know, our very precious dog Carmen passed away on October 21st this year and he is very missed and so very loved. My first Christmas in 11 years without my baby Carm!

Take a look at this perfect ornament I found for my husband this year, a dog that looks like my Carm and look, there's a turkey too! How funny is that?

i heart dogs!

I'm a huge, huge dog lover, I have been my whole life! I can't think of any time in my almost 30 years of life where I didn't have a dog or two or three... and not only do I love them, adore them, want all of them, I also have my own doggie business that is super fun!

With that being said, I have been inspired by one of my blog friends... Geri-Ann at The Undomesticated Wife! She does a dog tree every Christmas. Why didn't I think of this? Such a stink'n cute idea! I am soooo excited to copy her and do one myself! I'm going to wait to start next Christmas though, it will consist of all dog ornaments, it's going to be super cute, and it will be dedicated to my dear and very, very missed dog Carmen who just passed away this October.

I'll show you a sneak peek at a few of my doggie ornaments. I took the pictures without the flash so they didn't turn out too great but come back next year and you'll get to see lots more!

I came across these adorable dog bowl ornaments when I ran out to the store tonight. They had 3 left so I scooped them all up, having that third one in mind for my friend Geri-Ann who also loves dogs so much too! So... Geri-Ann if you don't already have this cute little dog bowl, please email me your address and I'll send it out to you to add to your dog tree!

cold and bitter

Although I now live in sunny southern California, I did grow up in the midwest so I am very familiar with the bitter cold... this video made me smile... actually I can't stop!

Old Fashioned Candy Wreath... and a bonus!

I think old fashioned candy is so pretty so I decided to make a wreath out of it. It was a super easy project and it turned out pretty much as expected. I think it makes a nice touch for the festive holiday season! I know this ribbon is wrinkled, I just used it real fast so I could take a snapshot for you to see, not sure what color ribbon I want to use nor where this is going to go yet.
