My Dear Carmen

I decided to bring my precious dog home and bury him here. When I was at the cemetery, I just had a gut feeling that wasn't good. I didn't know what it was until yesterday when I realized my baby should be buried at home where he lived and where he passed away. I will also like the fact that I can go right outside to visit his spot rather than driving through traffic 40 minutes away and who knows how often that will get to happen. I feel much better about this. We will be bringing him home tomorrow. We have a few things to put inside his casket and we bought a fake rock that has a cute saying on it to put there. I will also plant flowers and it will be special.

This pain on the other hand is so hard. I feel so sick and sad. I miss every little and big thing about him and everything reminds me of him, everything. I know I will always miss him but wonder how long this aching will go on.

Can anyone help...

We bought a plot for my dog at a pet cemetery, he is there now and we are supposed to go on Saturday to see him and have him buried. I am having second thoughts and would like to bury him at home. My husband doesn't think this is a good idea. He says that if we move, I will then not be able to visit his grave and I regret making this decision. I'm just curious if anyone has ever buried a beloved pet in their yard and then moved away and what that was like....

my heart just aches.

My heart aches so much.

My husband found a pet cemetary down by the beach. We heard and found nothing but great reviews about it. We are going to take my dear dog down there soon and pick out his plot and then we'll go back on Friday to actually see him and his burial.

You all have no idea how much your support right now means to me. This is the most difficult thing I have ever gone through.

Thank you again!

If anyone has any ideas as to what I can put in his little casket on Friday before I bury him, I would appreciate it. I have a cute little scarf that says I love you all over it that I think I'll place with him but I just didn't know if there was anything that others have done that maybe I would like to do too.

It's hard to look at his picture right now but here is his little silhouette. If you would like to see him, just look under my pet category.

June 17, 1997 - October 21, 2008

My baby Carm passed away this afternoon at 12:30 pm and I am heart broken. The last few days have been very difficult. He was really suffering and on top of that my husband is out of town so this is even harder! I am home alone. he was supposed to come home tomorrow, but he will be coming in tonight instead. It's still going to be a long day. My baby Carm was really struggling to breath today and I prayed the Lord woud take him. The thought of putting him to sleep made me sick. My baby boy passed away in my hands. Please pray for my comfort and peace and that I can get through this okay. I was really attached to my puppy. May his sweet, sweet spirit rest in peace in the arms of Jesus! Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

My husband is very funny about me bothering with his stuff, especially when I want to change his decorating.

At the top of our steps is an area where he had some pictures and stuff on the wall, I hated it sooo much! This was here before we got married and he refused to let me touch it.

Little by little he tends to let me change things but it does not come easy. I always have to tell him exactly what I want to do and exactly where what is going to go. It's so frustrating because no matter how hard to I try to explain anything, he can't quite see my vision. He usually ends up liking what I do but it's never an easy process!

He is currentlty out of town so I took it upon myself to change things up. Take a look at the before and after.

I recently did some silhouetts of my dogs, they aren't quite finished but this will do until I get them fully done.

I think it looks much better but doesn't it seem a little bare now? Or was it just so over the top before that I haven't quite adjusted... hehe.

An award from sweet Charmaine!

My sweet friend Charmaine gave me this thoughtful award! Thank you Charmaine! Please check out her blog, it is full of beautiful posts, one after another! She really has a sense of great style and taste!!! I can never get enough of it!

6 things I value:
1. Jesus. Without Him I don't know where I would be. He is everything to me.

6 things I don't value:
1. The devil. he's a liar and a creep, and I want him far, far way from me!

4. People who think and act as if they are better than you.
5. People who act like they like you but talk bad about you.

Me, Right Now... {Challenge!}

Hollie at All Things In Moddy has this spontaneous challenge going on!

Take a picture of yourself right now {just as you are} while reading this blog and then post it!

Here I am. Not my shining moment although my face is on the shiny side... hehe.

I have to admit, I probably wouldn't have done this but my camera was sitting right next to me. It was a hot day today, in the 90s! I was out and about running errands, doing this and that and I came home and haven't washed my face and as you can see, haven't done anything with my hair either.

13 pieces of clothing, 3 cupcakes & a free puppy!!!

I had a GREAT day! Thank you Jesus!!! Things have been tough for me lately and boy did I need a wonderful day like today! The weather was hot but it was nice and everything just worked out well!

It started off by going to lunch with my husband at Panera, I love that place! I haven't been there in awhile so it was especially good! After that, I took my husband home and then decided that I needed a mini vacation, that means... I went to Anthropologie today and alone.

I haven't been clothes shopping in so long. I needed clothes so bad, I wear practically the same thing every day and I just had enough of it. I've been saving my money little by little so I could go splurge and boy did I!

Here's the thing, whenever I go out shopping and don't have money, I want every thing I see but when I actually have a few extra dollars and go out, I never find anything BUT not today. It was great...

I got 2 jackets, 2 sweaters, 7 shirts, 2 pairs of pants! Oh my gosh, everything is so adorable! I'll have to show you some pics. I even got to check a few things off my little wish list {a few posts below}!

So... every Christmas, my friends and I exchange ornaments. It's a tradition we've been doing since high school! It's so fun because we all have such a nice little collection now from each other! I found these ADORABLE little cupcake ornaments! I love cupcakes so when I saw these, I had to have them!

Okay, now for the puppy. Well, lets just say that I wish it was a real puppy but it's actually this cute little stuffed animal from Victorias Secrets. I guess I purchased over a certain amount because they gave him to me for free! Isn't he cute!

Oh, and it ended great too, I came home to find my new Country Living magazine in the mail today! :o)

I am so excited, I adore her! Anyone else love her?

I love Everyday Italian but my favorite is Giada's Weekend Getaways! I think I'm going to really love this new show! Oh, and be sure to check out her new book, too!

Extra Tidbit: Did you know? Her hubby Todd is a clothing designer for the one and only Anthropologie... {my favorite store btw}!

To start things off, my best friend and her husband both have a first name that starts with the letter {J}.

My best friend has also always loved the name Julia and wanted to name her first daughter that name, not because it also started with a {J} but because she has always loved it.

Well, her first child was a girl and this little girl was named Julia.

Now, all three of them start with {J}!

Child #2... what to do? Do they also give that child a {J} name so it doesn't feel left out or just give it any ol' name that they like?

They chose to give baby #2 a {J} name as well... her name is Jillian.

Okay, well... my dear best friend is pregnant now with baby #3. The baby must have a {J} name but the names are running low.

I feel like we have checked evey baby name site, every book... can't seem to find any for her that she LOVES!

Feel free to share any {J} names for a boy or girl...
The other two girls are Julia and Jillian.

My Front Door

So! There are so many little things that I would love to get my hands on and change/update around my house, but between my husband and the home owners association it tends to get a little discouraging!

I am determined to paint my front door. It's dreadful. Everything is either tan & beige around here... Ugggh!

I want to paint the house, trim and door but out of the three, the front door will probably be the most cheap and the most convincing.

I'm wondering what color you think I should paint the front door? I was also thinking about taking the screen off and putting it on the garage door instead... what do you think?

I personally have always wanted to paint our house a pretty light charcoal grey color, have white trim and paint the door red but lately....

I have been thinking a black door would be nice, but would it be too much? I need something that will look good with the dreadful beigh and tan?

Would love to hear your thoughts? Thanks!

Do you see that iced tea on the right in the picture below? It's made with a Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker...Do you know where I can buy one? And... how to make yummy, refreshing tea with it?

I know this sounds funny, but as much as I LOVE iced tea, I don't know how to make it... I know, sad! My mom always boiled the water and stuck a bunch of tea bags in the water, every time I try this method, my tea is too strong and never refreshing!

The other night at Bunco, the hostess had that iced tea (see picture) there and I LOOVED it. The next day I was still thinking about it, so I texted my friend and asked her how she made it!

Out of all my many questions and begging for tea making instructions, all she ended telling me was that she used 1 tea bag. I asked her for more details but thats all I got! Don't ask me why, but she won't tell me how she made that darn tea! I know.... weird?

Anyway, she wouldn't even tell me if was made with a tea maker, I thought she boiled the water until I asked another friend who was there that night if she knew how she made it and she told me all she knew was that she made it with a tea maker! ....then my detective self remembered that I had pictures! A.. ha!

There it sits all refreshig in its pink little picher.

Does this look familiar to you? Do you know where I can find one?

My dear baby Carmen!

My dear dog Carmen is suffering with cancer, he is not doing very well at all. The last couple of days have not been easy, I took him into the hospital this morning and his oncologist said I should consider putting him to sleep now. I have not prepared myself for this. He is my baby. I have had him since he was 6 weeks old and he is now 11. I love him as if he was my child. This is so hard to bare.

I brought him back home with me so I can pray about what I should do and so I can be by his side and see how he does in the next 24 hours. He was disagonsed in June and although his health has been slowly getting worse, his personality hasn't changed, his playfulness, his appetite, nothing has changed until just recently when he took a turn for the worse and now he wont barely move, eat, drink, he is so sick! He is currently on heavy pain medication and sleeping next to me.

Please pray that the Lord will comfort him, comfort me and help me be at peace with what to do and with the whole situation. I am so heartbroken and sad! I have to leave in a bit for a couple of hours and I dread leaving his side. Please keep my baby in your prayers as he goes through this. Thank you.

UPDATE: 10/08/08 1:17 PM
I just want to say Carmen is improving every minute. More energy, eating and drinking on his own now... his appetite is coming back! THANK YOU!!! Prayer works! He is still very sick and very weak but he's doing better! Thank you Jesus! I love you Lord, please heal my baby! In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
