my heart just aches.

My heart aches so much.

My husband found a pet cemetary down by the beach. We heard and found nothing but great reviews about it. We are going to take my dear dog down there soon and pick out his plot and then we'll go back on Friday to actually see him and his burial.

You all have no idea how much your support right now means to me. This is the most difficult thing I have ever gone through.

Thank you again!

If anyone has any ideas as to what I can put in his little casket on Friday before I bury him, I would appreciate it. I have a cute little scarf that says I love you all over it that I think I'll place with him but I just didn't know if there was anything that others have done that maybe I would like to do too.

It's hard to look at his picture right now but here is his little silhouette. If you would like to see him, just look under my pet category.

I'm so sorry for your loss. We lost one of our babies 2 years ago -- he was killed by a coyote. My dad buried him with his dog bed so he'd have something comfy to lay on in dog heaven.

((hugs)) Aw Brandi, I know how much it hurts. But one day, you don't hurt when you think of Carmen, you'll smile and laugh at the memories you have. He knew he was loved.

I think the scarf is a great idea. You could also do his favorite toy, maybe a treat or a picture of you and him.

If it's not too late, ask the vet to clip a bit of his fur for you. I did this myself the day we took Booger in to be euthanized (because of his cancer). I cut a few snips and put them in a tiny bottle. I felt better knowing I had a "piece" of him with me, if that makes sense.

What a beautiful tribute your husband put together. I really enjoyed seeing the pictures. You can tell Carmen had a great life, and he knew it. What a beauty, so cute and that face was all smiles.

I have tears welling up in my eyes after the last two pics "moments before" and "looking for Carmen" in the box.

I know when Booger was first gone, Sammi, our dachshund mix, grieved quite a bit. She went from room to room looking for him. She would whine and cry and got very clingy with us. It was heart-breaking.

hi brandi, i absolutely loved the tribute in honor of Carmen. he was absolutely beautiful. i love the image with you and him in the car.he looked so very happy.i love the idea of the picture with you and him, that's a good idea. if you can get one with you and your husband with Carmen, that would be nice. i also think that if you can, write a letter to Carmen of how you cherished your time that God granted you both to have together.that's only if you can. that could help give you peace. i again say that i am so sorry for your loss. i hope your feeling better.

Love and God Bless,
charmaine

You poor baby. My heart goes out to you. The loss of such a loved one is so very heart breaking. We have lost several loved ones and it just kills me too. We live in the country and have our own Pet Cemetary, and each was lovingly wrapped with their favorite blankie. I hate the cold hard ground, and can't bear the thought of it. Okay, that doesn't help, but you are not alone. I will think of you often today, and hope that the tears will gently fade.

We are so sorry for your loss. Loosing a four-footed family member is so painful, yet they stay in your heart forever. The scarf is a wonderful idea-perhaps a favorite toy too? If possible- can you make a print of his paw? Ink and press on paper, and frame next to the silhouettes? You can measure other new family members as they grow, reminding yourself of this wonderful friend each time.

Have a blessed day,

I just read your post today, and understand your pain. We have lost many fur kids ourself, and they are all buried on our property. We have almost 1 acre, so we never gave it another thought. I highly doubt we will ever move from here since our home is almost paid for. I know it's hard to believe now, but it will become easier, as time does heal. You will always remember the funny little things Carmen did and the good times you shared. It will bring a smile to your face, not tears. It just takes some time and I wish you and your husband well. - Nancy
