Happy Fall! {Part 2}

So! On my front porch, I switched out my summer pillows to these darker creamy green pillows and I added this adorable garland that I just love and that was only $5.00. I'm about to run out and get another one to put inside the house somewhere!

On to the more imporant things... I need help {pretty please} with my mantle! When I look at the picture I took vs. how it looks in person, it doesn't look the same to me at all. In person, it looks more full but in the picture it looks more scattered and dinky. I feel like my mantle looks cluttered/over stuffed... what should I take down? And, do you think the white sticks out like a sore thumb? I was thinking of maybe taking down all the white pumpkins and then replaying the mini white ones with mini orange ones?

Next, I don't need to ask if you see it because how can you not BUT that big, ugly bundle of blue & black wires hanging off to the left, what can I do to hide that on a red wall? I HATE it if you can imagine. I'm desperate, please help! It just hangs there because I don't know what to do.

Okay, I'm going to go look through all of my old October and November Country Livings for some inpiration, I didn't know I had so many, this is going to be fun!

Thank you and I hope where ever you are, you're having some fun decorating too!

Oh, and one more thing! I received an email from one of my favorite long time creative friends.... SUSAN BRANCH! Be sure to check out her site to see the latest!

I like the way your mantle looks.

For the cords, they sell this casing stuff at Home Depot/Lowe's that is meant to run wires through and has adhesive to attatch flush to the wall. They are paintable as well, so just go over it with your wall color and it will blend in nicely. The casing has corner pieces and so you can run it around the side of the mantle and straight down to the floor. We use it to run our surround sound cords along our baseboard. No one even knows its there!

Sorry for the novel!

What warm, rich colors! I don't have a flat screen tv on the wall,and didn't even think about the wire situation when I would daydream about owning one. That is a tough problem! I usually paint wires the color of the wall behind them, that helps a bit for under desks and tables, but I don't know about right across a mantel. I guess paint them, then set something in front of it and they won't be noticable.

Thank you ever so much, Brandi!!!

My plant is soleirolia soleirolii, I believe it's called baby's tears or angel's tears. It's pretty and you're right, very dainty!

I will browse through your lovely blog thoroughly in a bit. I'm on a short break from cleaning a huge closet which has been an utter disaster in terms of a hugehuge mess for quite some time now :-)

Your mantel display is wonderful. I would not change a thing. :o) I especially like your bench on the porch with your pillows! Did you build your bench? I did a little trash to treasure bench with my husband. It was fun! :o)

I'm sorry this won't be any help but I got that timer a long time ago at TJ Maxx. Probably like 8 years ago. Sorry! :)
